(1:45-2:15pm) OUCH POUCH
Ouch Pouch was formed in the winter of 2016, bringing together bassist and lead singer Joziah Cladoosby, guitarist Isaiah Montemayor, and drummer Chick Green. Ouch Pouch original music has a distinctive alt-rock sound, and they are currently working up material to fill their first LP.
(2:15-2:30pm) EVAN ERICKSON
Evan Erickson is going into his sophomore year at Vashon High School and throughout his life has shown much interest and passion with music, particularly guitar and vocals, and other forms of art like photography and acting. This is his first year with guitar however he has eight years of experience with singing throughout theatre.
(3:15-3:45pm) RISE & RISK
RISK (Rock Island String Kollective), based on Vashon Island, is one of few multi-generational, string ensembles playing traditional, folk and rock music. RISK welcomes a range of string instruments including Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo and Harp. Now in its 7th year, RISK also provides public performances at Island schools and senior centers. RISK is open to anyone willing to take RISKs with their music and have fun in the process! RISE (Rock Island String Education) is a program for 3rd through 5th graders wanting to learn fiddle or guitar. Now in its 4th year, RISE provides low-cost music lessons in a group setting for younger children. Both groups have performed at Folklife Fest for the past two years.
(4:45-5:15pm) NUCLEAR QUARTET
Nuclear Quartet is made up of 4 talented, young musicians between the ages of 9 and 12 from West Seattle and Vashon. They play an upbeat mix of rock and pop covers plus some originals. Influences include Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Sade, A Great Big World, Elastica, and The White Stripes. The band made its debut at the Skylark Café in March and was the opening band for the 2017 Volunteer Park Pride Festival. The members of Nuclear Quartet study at Mode Music Studios in West Seattle.
(6:15-6:45pm) AVA ADAMS
Ava Adams is a fifteen-year-old singer-songwriter from Gig Harbor Washington. Formerly the vocalist for A Street Blues, she has spent the past two years writing music and rehearsing, playing countless venues throughout the Pacific Northwest. She recently traveled to Memphis Tennessee with her band where they spent the week playing in several iconic blues clubs on Beale Street as a feature band in the 2017 International Blues Challenge. While in Memphis, they recorded their debut, original blues EP at the legendary Sun Studio. In addition to performing blues, Ava has taken up the acoustic guitar and is excited to be working on solo projects. Her soulful vocals and haunting melodies are quite mature for her age and have gained her praise in the local music community.
(7:45-8:15pm) FLOWER PUNKS
Rooted from Austin, Vashon Island, and Topanga Canyon, this four piece delivers a high energy, yet dynamic sonic experience. They are currently recording their sophomore release in addition to cultivating a collective of artists and musicians in Venice Beach, CA. Flower Punks produces music stemming from a wide array of influences, giving them a timeless yet fresh and relevant sound.
